Did You Know?
- Your Sleep Number Defined Your sleep number represents the number of hours your body needs each night to maintain peak mental and physical health.
- The Body Restores and Repairs Itself at Night. The body undergoes restoration during the four stages of sleep: N1, N2, N3 (Non-REM Sleep), and Stage 4 (REM Sleep). During Non-REM Sleep, your body repairs tissues, grows, and produces vital hormones. During REM Sleep (Rapid Eye Movement), your brain consolidates memories (this is when true learning happens), removes toxins, grows new brain cells, and repairs itself.
- The Brain Is a Closed System.
During Non-REM Sleep, your body repairs tissues, grows, and produces vital hormones.
During REM Sleep (Rapid Eye Movement), your brain consolidates memories (this is when true learning happens), removes toxins, grows new brain cells, and repairs itself.
The Brain Is a Closed System
At night, the brain cleans itself of plaque and other cellular debris. Without adequate sleep, this process is incomplete, potentially contributing to the rising rates of Alzheimer’s and dementia among the elderly. Research suggests these conditions may be linked to insufficient sleep, which prevents the brain from effectively clearing plaque.
4. Sleep Deprivation Impacts Insulin Production
Sleep deprivation disrupts the body’s normal insulin production, increasing the risk of chronic conditions like Type 2 diabetes.

Quality sleep reduces wrinkles and other signs of aging, enhancing your natural beauty from the inside out.
